Jelly Roll Slammed by Critics for Thanking Jesus During Emotional Grammy Acceptance Speech as Online Backlash Explodes

Jelly Roll’s overtly religious acceptance speech at the 2026 Grammys has left liberals seething as they flocked to social media to accuse the star of ‘religious psychosis.’
The 41-year-old country crooner took to the stage after winning the award for Best Contemporary Country Album at Sunday night’s ceremony held in Los Angeles.
His 2024 album Beautifully Broken beat out the likes of Miranda Lambert, Tyler Childers, Eric Church and Kelsea Ballerini for the top country prize.
Jelly Roll spent much of his emotional speech talking about Jesus and how Christianity, like music, ‘changed [his] life.’
He added to the faith-fueled moment by holding up a small bible for the crowd to see.
‘I believe that music had the power to change my life, and God had the power to change my life,’ he told the crowd of A-listers with his shiny gold Grammy in hand.
‘I want to tell y’all right now: Jesus is for everybody, Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by no … label. Jesus is Jesus.’

At one point the star even held up a bible for the crowd to see
While many Grammy viewers were moved by Jelly Roll’s words, the star’s critics were out in full force as they cruelly accused him of suffering from ‘religious psychosis.’
Some even went as far as to blame his rambling speech on his recent weight loss, having dropped nearly 300 pounds over the last several years.
‘That GLP-1 really fast-tracked the religious psychosis for Jelly Roll, huh,’ one X user wrote.
Another added, ‘Jelly Roll being like scary skinny suddenly, girl, what happened. Now the face tattoos and Jesus talk seem even more menacing.’
‘Does this mf Jelly Roll ever just talk normal?’ a third person penned on the platform.
Elsewhere in his acceptance speech, Jelly Roll gave an emotional shout-out to his longtime wife Bunnie Xo for helping him turn his life around.

Before finding fame, the star struggled with drug and alcohol abuse and he even previously spent time in prison for various offenses, including aggravated robbery and drug possession.

Jelly Roll candidly admitted that he would be ‘dead or in jail’ if he did not have Bunnie Xo in his life.
