HOT NEWS: Springsteen’s “Land of Hope and Dreams” Tour Ignites New Political Firestorm

Springsteen Calls Trump a “Wannabe King” as He Launches Tour “In Defense of America”

Bruce Springsteen isn’t easing into retirement. He’s stepping onto the front lines.

On February 18, 2026, the rock legend announced his upcoming “Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour,” a 20-date run kicking off March 31 in Minneapolis — and he made it crystal clear: this isn’t just a concert series.

It’s a statement.

“We are living through dark, disturbing and dangerous times,” Springsteen said in a video posted to social media. “But do not despair, the cavalry is coming.”

That “cavalry”? Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

From Minneapolis to California, Texas to Washington, D.C., the 76-year-old icon says he’ll be taking the stage “in celebration and in defense of America, American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution and our sacred American dream.”

Then came the line that detonated across political circles:

“All of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington, D.C.”

The target was unmistakable: President Donald Trump.

A Tour Born From Protest

Springsteen’s tour announcement arrives just weeks after the release of his new protest track, “Streets of Minneapolis.” The song sharply criticizes the Trump administration’s deployment of thousands of federal agents to Minnesota as part of a broader immigration crackdown.

The policy move followed Trump’s 2024 campaign pledge to deport millions of undocumented migrants — a hardline stance that energized his base and fueled his re-election victory.

But controversy erupted in January after two U.S. citizens — Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti — were fatally shot by federal agents in Minneapolis during operations tied to the crackdown. The administration later announced it was winding down the Minnesota operation earlier this month.

Springsteen didn’t stay quiet.

For decades, he has built his identity as a voice of working-class America — factory towns, union halls, forgotten highways. Yet many of those same communities have shifted politically in recent years toward Trump.

Last autumn, Springsteen accused the president of deceiving voters.

“A lot of people bought into his lies,” he said at the time. “He doesn’t care about the forgotten anybody but himself and the multibillionaires who stood behind him on Inauguration Day.”

A Long-Running Feud

This isn’t new territory for “The Boss.”

During a 2024 performance in Manchester, England, Springsteen labeled Trump and his administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.” He publicly supported then–Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election and performed at campaign rallies in the final stretch before Election Day.
