Ellen DeGeneres ‘leaves US and moves to England’ after Trump win
Ellen DeGeneres has reportedly moved to the UK following the recent U.S. election results that will see Donald Trump become the second president in history to serve two non-consecutive terms. While numerous celebrities have been rumored to consider leaving the country after Trump’s victory, DeGeneres appears to be among the few actually taking action.
According to reports, the former talk show host and her wife, Portia de Rossi—best known for her role in Arrested Development—have left their home in Montecito, California. The area, famously home to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has been traded for a residence in the Cotswolds, a picturesque region in South West England. The district is known for attracting high-profile figures, including David and Victoria Beckham, actor Hugh Grant, and model Kate Moss.
DeGeneres, now 66, has faced significant challenges in recent years due to allegations of a toxic workplace environment on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Despite issuing a public apology and taking responsibility for the issues, her once-pristine reputation suffered lasting damage.
