Leavitt posted the pictures just days after welcoming baby Viviana, nicknamed Vivi, on May 1, 2026.

“Mother’s Day with my sweet angel mama, and the first with my two babies,” she captioned the post.

“My heart has never been so full. There’s nothing I love more than being their mom.”

“Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mamas who make the world go around.”

In another image, she stood next to her mother, and in another image shows her son playing with his sister.

Leavitt and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 60, welcomed the baby girl earlier this month.

The press secretary said her daughter was born healthy and that her family was enjoying its “newborn bubble.”

The Mother’s Day post came less than two weeks after Vivi’s arrival.

It marked Leavitt’s first holiday as a mom to both her son and newborn daughter.

Leavitt had announced her pregnancy in December 2025.

At the time, she described her baby girl as “the greatest Christmas gift.”

Leavitt is the youngest person to serve as White House press secretary.

She has not confirmed how much time she will take away from the podium.

The press secretary said she was “extremely grateful” to President Donald Trump and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles “for fostering a pro-family environment in the White House.”

Leavitt was forced to delay her maternity leave after another alleged attempt on Trump’s life brought her back to the office for a press briefing.

She previously returned to work on Trump’s campaign just three days after giving birth to Niko.

That came after Trump was nicked by a bullet during the first harrowing near-miss assassination attempt.

Her deputy Anna Kelly is expected to cover some duties while Leavitt spends time at home.

Kelly is a former beauty queen who has worked on communications teams for several Republican campaigns.

No official replacement has been announced.

Assistant press secretaries Taylor Rogers and Liz Huston could also take to the podium while Leavitt is away.

Leavitt, who is from New Hampshire, threw a baby shower in March.

Prominent women from the Trump administration attended the celebration.
